We stopped on April 21/2012 due to the weather conditions. Snow birds travelling back to Ontario the Red Roof Inn Clerks recommended the Middlesex restraunt along with acouple of others and we choose Middlesex. We can’t say enough how good our meal was along with the staff. We plan on stopping there again when we returnt to Florida.

the food is just all right. I dont care what anyone says!! The place does have very freindly staff and decent prices. But it just cant compare to my southern diners. The Food is just very bland no spice like i say its just ok!!

We live in Ohio and look forward to eating here when we visit PA. Good food and a great price with decent portion sizes!!!

Nice place, large menu selection, great portions, friendly service. Good on cleanliness, including the restroom. I would recommend this diner above any other in Carlisle.

On Sunday 1/30 I had my second experience with cold food and poor service on a take out order. When the order was ready I asked that it be placed in a box for easier carrying. We had ordered three meals, two with salads one with soup. A heavier container was placed on top of the soup breaking the lid and causing it to spill all over the other containers as well as the seat of my car. The soup,of course, was gone. When I got home and unpacked the meal I also found that the FF were COLD. We live five minutes away. This was our second negative experience in a month. After 5 years of buying take-out it appears that service and product have slipped.

I have been a regular customer of the Middlesex Diner for years. The efficiency of the kitchen has definitely degraded lately. Im not sure if they have cut-back on staff but service is significanlt slower than it has traditionally been. Two of the last four trips – we had to eventually ask for the order to be converted to a “to go order’ because we just couldnt wait any longer.

I still like the Diner though

EXCELLENT food and VERY reasonable prices! Love the crab stuffed flounder! Generous portions! Cream of broccoli soup is great too(sunday)! Anyone who gives this place a bad review must have poor taste. Bill for 4 people was 10 to $20 less than what I expected it would be. This place is awesome! Have been going there occasionally (not often enough) for about 10 years. Excellent waitresses too…would recommend this place to everyone!

I have been eating at the Middlesex Diner for over 15 years and have never had a bad meal or poor service. The prices for a family are very reasonable and much better than fast food and actually cheaper than McDonald’s or Burger King and much better food . Love this place and will always stop on my trips north from Martinsburg WV

As far as I am concerned, no trip to Carlisle (I am from Gilbertsville PA about 100 miles away) is complete without a visit to The Middlesex Diner!
I have been going there 4 to 6 times a year sometimes for multiple days for many years now. During the car shows, they add extra staff and you are always in and out quickly.
I highly recommend the Broiled Flounder and The Italian Wedding Soup for dinner and the breakfasts are fantastic. The service is always quick and friendly, the prices are really reasonable, the food is very good and plentiful…what more could you want?

Used to go there and the food was average. Last time was there was about 2 years ago, and the place was dirty, the service was terrible and the food was the worst that I’ve ever had. Will not go back ever again!!

I LOVE the Middlesex Diner! The chicken ranch wrap is my absolute favorite! My mom likes the chicken stuffed with crabmeat and my dad always eats one of the specials. My brother eats breakfast!

I have stopped at the Middlesex Diner for the last six years each time I come through the Carlisle area (I am from Hagerstown, MD). Most times I am with a group. The food is VERY GOOD, the service is friendly and very attentive andt he price has always been more than fair. I would highly recommend this establishment to any local or anyone passing through. It is just off of exit 52B on Interstate 81 in Carlisle, PA. One note I’d like to make is that the “breakfast” menu and food is fantastic.

Excellent…….. The best spaghetti and meatballs I have ever had and generous portions, reasonable prices, family owned, large variety, BYOB, too. The only place I have ever been that serves 3 large tasty meatballs per standard order. No better Italian in Carlisle!
