George’s has been around long enough to remember the trolley cars that went through Carlisle… and the walls have enough personal photographs from that era – right up until today.

George’s is a small family owned pizza shop in Carlisle that is quite unique.

Monday – Thursday 11:00am – 9:30pm
Friday – Saturday 11:00am – 10:00pm

Best subs on the planet, pizza and stromboli, second to none. So they are sometimes busy, it is worth the wait. I drive 850+ miles for their subs, and will continue to do so as long as I am able. I visit Carlisle to see friends and relatives, and a car show every year or so, but never miss a George’s meal or three, when I am there. Growing up in Carlisle, I was lucky enough to have enjoyed George’s since he opened. It is just as good now, as it was then.

Everything on George’s menu is excellent. As a result, the only complaint I can register is that they get quite busy during the dinner hours. Trying to call in an order between 6 and 7 will send you right to a busy signal about 80% of the time in my experience. Pizza is a bit pricey, but well worth every penny.

If you’ve never had a taco pizza…it doesn’t get any better than theirs.

Subs are great when they get your order correct. Many times have called in for a pick-up order, drive home and the subs are not made as ordered. What a bummer. Pizza is nothing to get excited about. Service is horrible!!! Workers are very rude!!!

I literally grew up in George’s since my mother was an employee there till I was 6. The pizza is amazing and it beats anywhere else…i’ve been to pizza places in other states and i still wouldn’t consider anyone else better than them. Everything is made fresh and i can say this because of being in there so much growing up. The atmosphere is wonderful and the pictures that covers the walls and some of the ceiling hold the memories from their customers for generations. Seriously, if you’re in Carlisle you must stop and try their food…you will never be disappointed!

Hands Down best pizza in Carlisle and the surrounding area. My kids love the old gum ball machine and juke box too!

The pizza here is really well done. It’s not greasy and gross looking like that microwave nonsense from other stores. The bread is really good as well. I always look forward to going here.

We held a large party at George’s recently. The food was very good, the atmosphere was fun, the juke box contained some oldies, the photos on the wall are full of memories. The staff was top notch, and I would go back there anytime.

A Carlisle staple for decades, Georges offers on location made pizza, and subs and sides at reasonable prices in a family friendly atmosphere. While being downtown can sometimes be a parking nightmare, George’s does offer off-street parking in the rear next to their alfresco dining area with walkway access to the front entrance.

While the place has been around for decades, the menu does change with the times, often adding and removing items, so update that take out menu from time to time!

    Only a few caveats:

The place is crazy busy on weekend (mostly Friday) nights so get there early if you want in-house seating, always call an hour ahead for take out…. (oh, and the home delivery is normally a hour +, so plan accordingly).

There is no fryer on premises, some items such as wings, fries, etc. on the menu that are traditionally deep fried and crispy and tasty, are done in the convection oven instead.

I Love their sausage sub!! It’s the best!!!

Georges rocks! The best “real” pizza and sub shop in Carlisle. No chain store junk. All original food.

One of my favorite pizza joints in town. Wish they were open later. 2 choices of crusts, sandwiches, and bolis. Don’t miss it!

My husband grew up in Carlisle and introduced me to George’s subs thirty years ago. They have the finest subs anywhere around, their original rolls are the perfect accompaniment to their meats and wonderful pickle relish. I’ve never found anyplace that beats George’s!

Good for a slice. Tomato sauce has fresh taste.
