George’s has been around long enough to remember the trolley cars that went through Carlisle… and the walls have enough personal photographs from that era – right up until today.

George’s is a small family owned pizza shop in Carlisle that is quite unique.

Monday – Thursday 11:00am – 9:30pm
Friday – Saturday 11:00am – 10:00pm

    Three words perfectly describe Georges…

    SIMPLY THE BEST

I must have had pizza and subs from over 100 maybe 200 different shops. No-one even comes close to the quality of food Georges puts out.. NO-ONE…. George’s is the BEST of the BEST.. If you live in pennsylvania & havent tried them yet, you need to try them.. Best everything in carlisle.

One bad thing, the Only bad thing about them is that they no longer deliver.. besides that they are 10/10 the best food in the state, no.. the best food on the east coast, no.. the best food on the planet, at the absolute least..

George’s has the best subs around! My family has been going there since they opened! My parents went there at that time.

I’ve been going to George’s since 1973. My fondest memories are of going to George’s with my father having a cheeseburger sub and him having a foot long hotdog. Today I ordered an 8″ cheeseburger sub and I have never been so disappointed. Very scant on the meat and the roll itself. Tons of lettuce and tomatoes though. I was halfway through eating the sub before I even hit the burger. I understand cut backs, but seriously ? The only reason we order anything at George’s is because I want my cheeseburger sub. I guess I will seeking out a new favorite cheeseburger sub elsewhere.

Pizza is yummy, love the thick buttery crust. Delivery does take quite a while. Very small dining area. We went in once early in the afternoon on a Saturday, probably around 1-2 I believe. There was luckily one seat available. Biggest complaint: the price. Yes the food is good, but I spent over $50 for the 4 of us. I can see spending that much at a fine dining place, but a pizza/sub shop??

Best subs on the planet, pizza and stromboli, second to none. So they are sometimes busy, it is worth the wait. I drive 850+ miles for their subs, and will continue to do so as long as I am able. I visit Carlisle to see friends and relatives, and a car show every year or so, but never miss a George’s meal or three, when I am there. Growing up in Carlisle, I was lucky enough to have enjoyed George’s since he opened. It is just as good now, as it was then.

Everything on George’s menu is excellent. As a result, the only complaint I can register is that they get quite busy during the dinner hours. Trying to call in an order between 6 and 7 will send you right to a busy signal about 80% of the time in my experience. Pizza is a bit pricey, but well worth every penny.

If you’ve never had a taco pizza…it doesn’t get any better than theirs.

Subs are great when they get your order correct. Many times have called in for a pick-up order, drive home and the subs are not made as ordered. What a bummer. Pizza is nothing to get excited about. Service is horrible!!! Workers are very rude!!!

I literally grew up in George’s since my mother was an employee there till I was 6. The pizza is amazing and it beats anywhere else…i’ve been to pizza places in other states and i still wouldn’t consider anyone else better than them. Everything is made fresh and i can say this because of being in there so much growing up. The atmosphere is wonderful and the pictures that covers the walls and some of the ceiling hold the memories from their customers for generations. Seriously, if you’re in Carlisle you must stop and try their food…you will never be disappointed!

The pizza here is really well done. It’s not greasy and gross looking like that microwave nonsense from other stores. The bread is really good as well. I always look forward to going here.

We held a large party at George’s recently. The food was very good, the atmosphere was fun, the juke box contained some oldies, the photos on the wall are full of memories. The staff was top notch, and I would go back there anytime.

A Carlisle staple for decades, Georges offers on location made pizza, and subs and sides at reasonable prices in a family friendly atmosphere. While being downtown can sometimes be a parking nightmare, George’s does offer off-street parking in the rear next to their alfresco dining area with walkway access to the front entrance.

While the place has been around for decades, the menu does change with the times, often adding and removing items, so update that take out menu from time to time!

    Only a few caveats:

The place is crazy busy on weekend (mostly Friday) nights so get there early if you want in-house seating, always call an hour ahead for take out…. (oh, and the home delivery is normally a hour +, so plan accordingly).

There is no fryer on premises, some items such as wings, fries, etc. on the menu that are traditionally deep fried and crispy and tasty, are done in the convection oven instead.

I Love their sausage sub!! It’s the best!!!

Georges rocks! The best “real” pizza and sub shop in Carlisle. No chain store junk. All original food.

One of my favorite pizza joints in town. Wish they were open later. 2 choices of crusts, sandwiches, and bolis. Don’t miss it!

My husband grew up in Carlisle and introduced me to George’s subs thirty years ago. They have the finest subs anywhere around, their original rolls are the perfect accompaniment to their meats and wonderful pickle relish. I’ve never found anyplace that beats George’s!
