My daughter attended a birthday party at the tea room today and I was stunned at how rude the staff treated both the eight year old girls and their parents. My daughter told me that the people were “mean” and told them to be quiet various times as to not disturb the other patrons. Perhaps the tea room should not hold parties for eight year olds if they don’t expect a bit of noise. Or perhaps another room should be set up specifically for parties if you intend on young girls enjoying themselves.
Upon picking up our girls, parents had a few minutes to pick up their girls and their gift items and then we were asked (not very nicely) to leave the premises as other guests had paid to enjoy their tea.
I had planned on shopping there, but I was so stunned at our treatment, I immediately left . I will be sure to pass on to all the young families I know to avoid having a party or attending the tea room with their younger children. Clearly this business is NOT child friendly, no matter what they would like you to believe.

I was given some loose teas for a gift from this little gem. They were by far the very best teas I have ever tasted. Interesting an unusual blends, with names like sugar cookie, and green tea and almond. Another had coconut in it. I am contemplating a long drive just to restock!

I took my wife and mother to Camellia’s for Afternoon Tea Service. I must say the food was delicious. Wild mushroom soup was the best and the scones were the best I had ever eaten. I was afraid that I would still be hungry but there was plenty of delicious sandwiches and desserts. Lin, the owner, was very warm and friendly, and the teas were delicious. We especially loved the house tea and ended up buying some to take home.
If you are in town, you must stop if just for tea and scones. My wife and mother also enjoyed the gift shop where they purchased jewelry and some of the fine teas that were served at the tea.
