Unfortunately, the California Cafe is closed now. They closed on Sunday, June 12th. In a press release, the reason for the closure was based on the economic downturn, which started in 2008.

This is an outstanding dining experience, whether for lunch or dinner. Definitely the place to take your special partner and enjoy the moments together. You WILL be spoiled by dining here. We are looking forward to returning in the near future.
Staff is very attentive, food is unique and very tasty, very nice wine list, the homemade French rolls are to die for and the creme brulee is one of the best Ive ever had. The prices I think are very good for food that is made fresh to order. I will be back!
I disagree. For claiming to be a fine dining establishment, the waiters have no idea what they’re doing, the food is tiny, and the prices are much to exuberant for the lack of satisfaction one gets there.
The best part about California Cafe is the portion size. No matter what you order on the menu it is guaranteed to satisfy your hunger and taste absolutely delicious at the same time. The rolls are delicious and the selection of desserts is the best around. The atmosphere is unique to Carlisle as well. The low lighting and quaint environment is something to behold. California Cafe is definitely my favorite place in Carlisle.
The California Cafe is a place to escape into an adult lunch and great for meeting with clients! The food is fabulous. The French rolls are amazing! The service is exceptional. Always a pleasure! Love the quiches and my all time favorite salads are the Chinatown Chicken Salad and the Salade paysanne! Carlisle is pleased to have such an establishment in our town….we need more places like this one. California Cafe has the touch of class!
