Once again, as voted by our website visitors, here are the Top Carlisle, PA Restaurants for 2012.  Restaurants had to have a minimum of 10 votes to show up in the list.

4.13 – Leo’s Ice Cream; Rated 32 times
4.04 – George’s Sub & Pizza Shop; Rated 28 times
4.02 – North Hanover Grille; Rated 54 times
4.00 – Courthouse Common Espresso Bar; Rated 24 times
3.90 – Chen’s King Buffet; Rated 10 times
3.86 – Miseno Pizza & Ristorante; Rated 29 times
3.86 – Fairgrounds Diner; Rated 14 times
3.83 – Cassell’s Grille; Rated 12 times
3.81 – Mt Fuji; Rated 32 times
3.81 – Fay’s Country Kitchen; Rated 16 times

A notable ‘up and coming’ restaurant is the AYA Japanese Steakhouse, which currently holds the best ranking of all our restaurants, but did not have the required number of votes to show up in this years list.

Chen’s King Buffet is now Chen’s Asian Restaurant and they moved to 310 North Hanover Street (where the Arbys, Railroad Diner and others have been)…  Hopefully they will be able to keep that location for years to come.

Other Interesting Stats

Chloe’s, which was #2 last year, unexpectedly closed in 2011 (along with the California Cafe & LeBlanc’s)
Leo’s Ice Cream is still at #1 and has been in the Top Ten for 4 years!
North Hanover Grille has also been in the Top Ten for 4 years!

Congrats to the 2012 Carlisle, PA Best Restaurants!

EuroBurger should be one of the best restaurants in Carlisle, PA. I’ve ate there, and let me tell you their food is amazing and the prices are cheaper compare to others. Big portions of food….you will not regret it.

Leo’s is the best restaurant because the product they make is the best and can hold its own with ice cream all over the USA. N Hanover Grill is just plain good value for moneny, with great service. Maybe no unique signature dishes, but they do make the effort to offer fresh cut fries, their food is consistent, and they wings are the best in region. George’s is an old favorite with loyal customers. Personally I think Vinny’s is as good if not better. I am surprised the Hamilton is not mentioned. Another local favorite with great service. Miseno is consistent. Fairgrounds offers good portions. What is missing is Piatto which has lost favor with locals.

I took a look at the full ‘top restaurants list’ as of today – and Hamilton is 15 (if you take out the CLOSED restaurants)… I think Hamilton has good food, fast service and it is a long-time standing tradition in Carlisle – but the top ten is based on votes (not me, directly).

I agree with North Hanover Grille – it is one of my favorites.

Then I would suggest changing the title of this article. It specifically states “restaurants.”

Fair enough – and yeah – it is hard ‘not’ to like ice cream and dessert-type locations.

This is a pretty sad commentary if the #1 restaurant in Carlisle area is an ice cream stand!

Roz – if we were ‘purely’ restaurants, yeah. But – we wanted to include all types of eating establishments. As you can see, people are fanatical about their desserts.
